Branded by a hand=drawn spiral, pancho is a five-piece hailing from Spokane, WA, weaving together roots rock with threads of blues, folk, and alternative influence. The bandβs name, a playful nod to the Spanish nickname meaning βfreeβ captures the energetic, flowing spirit that defines their music.
The band draws inspiration from indie rock giants like Briston Maroney, The Backseat Lovers, and Houndmouth, as well as alt-rock staples such as Built to Spill, Dr. Dog, and The Flaming Lips. Their sound also reflects their love for the improvisational energy of jam bands like Goose, the Grateful Dead, and Dave Matthews Band. All in all resulting in a style thatβs both nostalgic and refreshingly their own.
The group formed at Gonzaga University, where guitarist and vocalist Henry Seward, guitarist Rowan Smith, drummer Aidan Medeiros, and multi-instrumentalists Sam Twitty and Jesse Jordan quickly evolved from writing songs in dorm rooms to playing shows across eastern Washington.
In 2024, pancho released their first singles, βLaser Eyesβ and βCosmic Hero,β produced by Kenny Sager and Jay Condiotti. Their debut album, In Circles, followed shortly after, an introspective collection exploring love, mental health, and self-discovery. In that same year, they opened for New Zealand indie legends The Beths at the Knitting Factory, marking a pivotal early milestone. Just one year later, they made history as the first band to sell out Chameleonβs Jaguar Room on presale for their album release show.
Now, after a summer of writing and traveling, pancho returns with clear eyes and bold ambitions, excited to hit the stage, release new music, and keep the spiral spinning.
