Okay so first of all, we are so back. 

For context, Jacklen Ro was started by two emotionally volatile 16 year olds in high school named Jackie Giroux and Caelen Perkins, who started writing songs together to let it out. We are them. We put those songs on youtube and recorded our first album by ourselves in a practice room. We made a music video with some friends and people in LA were like, “you should work with us” with undertones of “and make us some money.” We were young, sprung and stoked to be wanted, so we booked it out there sleeping butt to butt on futons, feet dangling off the edge. 

Things really got started when we found a cool guy named Jon and got signed to a label and started to tour around America. Looking back now it feels like “who knew the hard times were the good old days”, because living like that was amazing, but rough. On tour we stayed with strangers and lived off soup, but there was nothing like connecting with the world totally nomadically. 

As Jacklen Ro got bigger the pressure got heavier. Our friendship started to deteriorate as we were both trying to fit in and meet the expectations of everyone around us. We were two dorks trying to be cool, popular LA kids. We were the time bomb. We exploded and never thought we’d work together again, until two years passed and we grew up. 

The last album we wrote, but never recorded burnt a hole through both of us and we messaged each other. Literally right now we are recording that last album and starting the band again. 

This time we know exactly who we are and have no other role to fill. The love of the music, the need to sing and some help from the wind has brought Jacklen Ro back together, better than ever.
